Coping With Grief During the Holidays

1. Find ways to remember- It is okay to process memories both good and bad. Allow yourself to feel all the feelings. Remember to validate your thoughts/feelings and realize that they are natural and healthy.

2. Make time for yourself- Create boundaries with your time. If you need to, take time for yourself.

3. Give yourself permission to say "no"- Try to set realistic expectations. You will probably be sad or off, and that is okay.

4. Change some traditions- Start a new tradition that honors their memory. Do things that honor them.

5. Do something for yourself- Practice self-care daily. Check-in with yourself and others on a regular basis.

6. Express your feelings- Talk about your grief. Don't worry about bringing anyone down. You are allowed to grieve and talk about it.
